My
Story
About Sotaira Morrigan, MMT
For more than twenty years, massage therapy has been the thread that has carried me through healing, transformation, and purpose. My path into this work wasn't linear or easy -- it was shaped by resilience, reinvention, and the deep belief that the body holds stories that deserve to be heard.
I began practicing massge therapy in 2005 after graduating from the American University of Healing ARts. From the very beginning, I fell in love with the craft -- the anatomy, the intuition, the connection, the way touch can change someone's entire relationship with their body. By 2010, i earned my Master Massage Therapist license, and determined to create a long, meaningful career in this profession.
But the journey had challenges. In 2006, a major auto accident changed everything. I developed PTSD, struggled with pain, and leaned firsthand what burnout, overwhelm, and what injuries can do to my body-mechanics. There were moments I wasn't sure how -- or if -- I would continue in this field.
That period of recovery became a turning point. I leaned deeply into body mechanics, alignment, nervous system regulation, meditation, yoga, and the internal work required to heal from truama. In 2016 through 2021, I earned certifications as a Yoga Teacher, Yomassage Practioner, Meditation Teacher and many others-- not as toos, but as lifelines that rebuilt me from the inside out.
What emerged from that season with clarity:
Massage therapists need more than techniques.
We need longevity. We need boundaries.
We need body mechanics that actually protect us, not inure us.
We need sustainable careers -- not survival.
This is why I created the Longevity & Legacy Continuing Education Series. More classes in this series will be rolling out in 2026.
Today, I teach massage therapists the skills I wish someone had taught me early in my career:
~ How to use alignment that supports your body instead of breaking it
~ How to build a schedule that honors your energy
~ How to create financial stability and future planning
~ How to integrate mindfulness and nervous-system safety into your work
~ How to build a career you can still love 10, 20 or even 30 years from now
My teaching is grounding in experience, compassion, and practicality. I've lived the highs and lows of this profession. I know what it feels like to start over after inury. I know what it feels like to come back from burnout. And I know what it feels like to stand on the other side -- stronger, clearer, and more aligned.
Now, as an instructor, I combine anatomy, body mechanics, minfulness, and real-world wisdom to help therapists tep into their own longevity and legacy.
My mission is simple:
To help massage therapists build ststainable, empowered, joy-filled careers -- and to protect the healers who spend their lives healing others.
If my journey resonates with you, I can't wait to meet you in class.
